Mesa Dynamics Releases Amnesty Widget Browser 1.2

Washington, DC – February 21, 2006 – Mesa Dynamics today announced the release of Amnesty Widget Browser 1.2, the OS X utility that gives Dashboard widgets expanded capabilities as they run directly on the desktop, introducing a completely overhauled widget engine that supports almost all widgets under Tiger.

Widgets loaded in Amnesty Widget Browser run completely outside of Apple¹s Dashboard environment, maintain their own preferences and feature adjustable display settings such as window level (desktop, standard or floating), opacity (transparency) and shape (scaling and rotation). Widgets can also be arranged into multiple virtual workspaces that can be called to the screen at any time, via hot key or menu.

Version 1.2 of Amnesty Widget Browser is built upon a new widget engine that results in significant performance increases, reduced CPU consumption, a smaller memory footprint and numerous bug fixes. This version also includes user interface enhancements such instant display of widget layouts as they open onto the desktop. And a popular request -- a widget preference front/back flip animation -- is now available for video cards that support Core Image transitions.
